Dr. Poornima Subrahmanya is a Consultant at the Institute of Gastroenterology & Hepatopancreaticobiliary Sciences at the prestigious Zymus Hospital in Bangalore.
After completing her MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, she went on to obtain her master’s in General Surgery (MS) from JSS, Mysuru.
She has worked as a senior resident in General Surgery at Grant medical college Mumbai before doing her Super-specialization in Gastro-intestinal surgery from Aster Medcity, Kochi, a high volume quaternary care center.
She has previously worked in a gastrointestinal cancer unit at Cytecare Hospital. She is a highly skilled gastrointestinal and hepatopancreaticobiliary minimal access surgeon specializing in the treatment of cancers related to the gastrointestinal tract, liver, bile duct, and pancreas.
With extensive experience in managing common conditions like gall bladder stones, hernias, piles and obesity surgery, Dr. Subrahmanya is dedicated to providing personalized and compassionate care to her patients.
Dr. Poornima Subrahmanya has an impressive track record of attending and presenting papers at several national conferences, where she has been recognized for her outstanding contributions to her field. Her remarkable work earned her the prestigious Best Video Award at AMASICON 2020, where she presented on “Laparoscopic Pancreatic Necrosectomy in a Patient Post Endoscopic Cystogastrostomy.”
In addition to this notable accomplishment, Dr. Subrahmanya has been honored with the Best Poster Award at ASICON 2017 in Mysore and again at ASICON 2016 in Gurgaon. These awards are a testament to her dedication and expertise, showcasing her as a leading figure in her field of study.
